Location

Tigh na Cidhe is located in the village of Kylerhea on the Isle of Skye. The Cottage is in a secluded location next to the jetty at the end of the Kylerhea road. To reach the cottage from the Skye bridge takes about 30 minutes. After crossing the bridge take a right at the roundabout on the A87 towards Broadford and Portree. After 4 miles turn left on the single track road signposted to the Kylerhea ferry. Follow this windy road for 7 miles down a steep hill to Kylerhea village. Continue on the ferry road and bear left at the red post box. The cottage is the last house in the village at the top of the ferry jetty.

Probably the best way to arrive on the Isle of Skye is by the small Glenelg to Kylerhea turntable ferry. This 5 minute crossing is available from 10.00am to 7.00pm during the summer months. The ferry leaves approximately every 20 minutes and no booking is required. In rough weather it is advisable to check the notices at the Glenelg turn-off on the A87 at Glenshiel.
